
Eligibility
Connect Community Housing units are allocated to people over 60 with low assets and receiving a pension or similar income benefit. We follow the State government’s Community Housing Income and Asset Limits Policy (2025). We will also assess:

Applicant’s citizenship and current place of residence

Applicant’s ownership of any property that could be used as a viable housing option

Applicant’s past rental history and references
Eligible applicants are placed on our wait list for 12 months and will be contacted if a vacancy arises. To stay on the wait list after the initial 12 months, you need to contact us.

Allocation
Connect Community Housing units are allocated according to housing need and:

Connection to the Victoria Park community
-
Household size in relation to available housing unit
-
Mobility (some units are upstairs)

Rent
Once units are allocated, Connect will calculate rent as 25% or 30% of tenant’s income plus 100% of Commonwealth Rent Assistance (CRA).Our rents are capped at 75% of rent charged in the private market for a similar property in the area.
