Hello Everyone,
On Saturday, June 29 we'll be throwing the doors open for an evening of fierce & fun entertainment at our Disco Bingo + Quiz Nite! So swing in, grab your seat, and get ready for the show to begin.
An evening filled with friends, laughter and prizes, hosted by the wonderfully entertaining Adam Penn - who some of you might remember as our amazing host in the Seniors Week Dinner Dance.
Gear up for a night of bingo complete with 2nd half of the 20th century pop culture quiz rounds, disco music and drinks; fun is mandatory!
There will be a prize for the best disco outfit, as well as a cash bar available with your drinks of choice. You can bring some snacks along as well.
This event is not only an opportunity to make memories with the community but also show your support to the Village Hub. As our fundraising event, this will raise vital funds for the Hub to keep doing what we do to support active ageing in the community for those 55+!
We can't wait to see you there. Please RSVP below:
Sustainability and Your Wellbeing
On Wednesday,June 26 we have a Be Confident session on sustainability and how it can aid in your wellbeing with Anne Pettit. Anne is our resident gardener at Connect Victoria Park. Beyond tending our gardens, she promotes sustainable living within our community. Anne collaborates with Flavia to host Gazebo sessions and assists members in decluttering and recycling efforts as well.
In this session, Anne will explore the concept of sustainable living and its benefits for your overall wellbeing. Embarking on a sustainable lifestyle journey does not need not be overwhelming - and Anne can show you how even small changes can make yourself and our Earth a better place to live.
Last time around, the session was a great success and we hope you can join us again.

Get Ready For The Next Bus Trip -
Hotham Valley Steam Train!
We have planned an exciting new trip on Wendesday, October 2nd. Our next Out N About trip is an opportunity to explore Dwellingup, Isandra Siding and The Darling Range on a two hour Steam Ranger journey. This particular train has an interesting history -
"For fifty years, Dwellingup was a busy centre for the thriving timber industry. However, after a disastrous fire in 1961 most of the surrounding timber mills ceased operation.
By 1984 the once weekly use of the Dwellingup line became unsustainable and this freight service was finally withdrawn completely.
During the early 1970's some Pinjarra residents realised the line still had much to offer, so in 1974 they formed the Pinjarra Steam and Hills Railway Preservation Society, which later became the Hotham Valley Tourist Railway.
The line remains as an historic remnant of the pioneers early endeavours to open up the western third of the continent and the Railway continues to provide people of all ages with access to some of Western Australia's most picturesque places and a wealth of living history."
Itinerary:
Dwellingup where we will enjoy our traditional morning tea.
Step aboard the Steam Ranger where you will enjoy a 2-hour adventure as we travel westward down to Isandra Siding, 14 Kilometers away where you will have a 30-minute stop over.
During this time the locomotive will move to the opposite end of the train. You will be thrilled by the magnificent sound of a steam locomotive hard at work climbing the West Australia’s steepest and most spectacular section of railway, through the darling range escarpment.
BYO Lunch and then time for a stop for fresh strawberries along the way
