What's On At The Hub 01/03/2024





Hi Everyone,


We will be closed on Monday, March 4th for the Labour Day Public Holiday. We hope everyone has a great long weekend and we can't wait to see you back in The Hub after!


Our staff along with some volunteers will be attending the Swan International Women's Day 2024 breakfast on Friday March 8th, and our office will only be opening at 9.30am.


We also have a bunch of DVD'S, CD'S and some recipes books for you to take for free in the hall. Please feel free to come and have a look at them.

 

Be Connected - How To Pay Online


Join Vicki on Wednesday, March 13 for a Be Connected session on learning how to pay online and doing it safely.


With most businesses, government payments, and day to day utilities payments moving online, it essential to learn how to move forward in a digital world to keep yourself informed safe and updated on your options.


There are many tips you can learn to ensure your online transactions are performed safely. In this workshop, you'll learn about some of the options for making payments online, including direct transfers from your bank account, credit and debit card payments, and a very popular third-party payment system called PayPal.


You will also learn about safety tips, the pros and cons of different payment methods and build up your confidence on online payments.

Be Confident - Looking After Your Feet




Many of you know Julian from our podiatry appointments and how amazing he is. He will be doing a special Be Confident session on foot health on Wednesday, March 27.


Some important reasons to take care of your feet include quality of life, wellness and regular physical activity. Your quality of life is directly linked to your ability to be self-sufficient. Activities like working, shopping and walking are just a few of the daily living activities that make you self-sufficient, and feet play an important role in them.


Poor foot health can impede on your overall life - preventative health is important as anything in terms of your feet.

  • Volunteers to do a letter box drop of our flyers for Neighbour Day Movie Matinee in Cargill, Mackie, and Hordern, Washington and Gloucester (between Cargill and Mackie) Streets next week. This will be great marketing for our Neighbour Day Event.


  • Our Community Dinners will be back for March, so please come along to cook and dine.
