What's On At The Hub 01/02/2024

We just had our first Measurement Day at the Hub. We hope that you managed to gain an insight into how you measure up against the the dimensions of wellness. If you missed out and would like to participate please have a chat to us, or book a Member-Help Centre appointment on Wednesday.

Footy Fitness is Back


Term 1 of Footy Fitness for 2024 has started! If you haven't tried our walking footy yet, or you haven't been for a little while, join us for this term. ! Footy Fitness for Men 55+ is a joint program with the West Coast Eagles that is all about improving your fitness, balance and strength through footy skills and gameplay, as well as have fun and make friends. Training starts at 8.00am at Mineral Resources Park.

Hub Book Club


The Book Club returns next week at the Hub. They will be meeting at the library on Monday, 5th February at 2.30 pm.


 

Noongar Language Classes - Full Program Available




We are so excited to have Kalyakoorl back in the Hub for Noongar Language Lessons. The full roster for 2024 is now available to book into on our website. Join Wadjak Balladong Noongar man Dylan Collard and Jayden Boundry, as they take you through a journey of the language and culture of the Noongar people.


First up in the cycle is Boonaroo season. They will then take you through the seasons of Djiran, Mookaroo, Djilba and Kambarang. The course is suitable for new and returning learners. This is a great way to support and get to know your local communities and learn the language and culture of the land we call home.


New cycle starts from the 14th of February. Classes will run every Wednesday 5.30pm (beginners) and 7.00 pm (intermediate).  


Village Hub members get a great discount on this course as well, so give it a shot!

The AgeLESS - Now Out!






Our AgeLESS for February - March is now out! Grab a copy for yourself and your friends to read about everything that's happening in the Village Hub over the next couple of months.

Podiatry with Julian


Julian is back next on Tuesday, 13 February for podiatry appointments. We still have time slots available for this day. Our podiatry appointments are considerably subsidised - just $20 for Village Hub members.

Community Lunch


Community Lunch this week, Tuesday 6 February will be Chicken and Salad followed by Chocolate Mousse and Cream.

 Can You Help The Hub?


  • We are looking for a volunteer to lead our kitchen for Community Lunch. Christina has been running the kitchen for community lunches, but will not be available for two months. If you are interested in running the kitchen please give us a call or come in for a chat. Community lunches are volunteer-run initiatives and an important part of our community.


  • Our Community Dinners will be back for the months of February and March, so please come along to cook and dine.
