What's On At The Hub 15/11/2024

Hello Everyone,

We had an amazing Seniors Week High Tea this week—made possible only by our amazing volunteers and everyone who attended and brought so much good energy into the space. A special thanks to Barb, Sue, Christina, Teresa, Jovy, Yootwah, Graeme, Ray, Margie, Anita, Paddy, Rudy, Debbie, Jessie, and Dale.

We also would like to give a special shout to Tom and Anne who were an integral part of the film we screened.

We also have some amazing photos Dale took, which you can check out in this blog post.

This week we also explored vocational wellness at Connect 60+ with a session of chair yoga followed by a storytelling session. Next week we take on intellectual wellness - you can book below!

Explore Intellectual Wellness at Connect 60+

Our Connect 60+ programme next week takes on intellectual wellness. Intellectual wellness is about trying something new and being open to learning new things. There are many great ways to keep your brain engaged and active.

Engaging in creative pursuits and intellectually stimulating activities is a proven approach to keep our minds alert and interested.

This week we'll start with a half an hour session of line dancing followed by guest speaker Dr. Kathleen Maddison from Centre for Sleep Science at UWA, who will talk about the importance of sleep on cognition and your overall wellbeing. Sleep is so important for our health and brains, and is often overlooked. As we get older, our sleeping habits can be disrupted by so many factors.

Session is on Friday November 22th, at 9.00am. You can book below:

Wellness Measurement Day Next Week

Our next measurement day is next week on Thursday, November 21 from 12pm - 3pm. If you've already attended one before, please consider booking in again to stay on top of your wellbeing journey. If you're new and curious about your wellness journey and how you’re progressing, we'd love to have you join in. This is a fantastic opportunity to track your progress against the ICAA 7 Dimensions of Wellness and gain insights into your overall well-being.

Measurement appointements won't take much of your time but in the fifteen minutes you spend with us, you can get a alot of insight into where you are at. You track you results in a record journal and attend every 3 months, to really see how you stack up to previous versions of yourself.
