What's On At The Hub 17/03/2025

Updated: Mar 14

Hello everyone,
Thank you for your patience with the changes to classes last week. Next week we will be back to normal and have a lovely new floor in the main hall.

We want to get our community lunches up and running again as soon as possible so we encourage you to attend Lunch and Learn on Tuesday to share a meal and give us your ideas and suggestions.

Community Lunch

Lunch and Learn

Tuesday 18 March 12pm

Have you been missing the Tuesday community lunches? To get them up and running again we invite you to share a free meal and brainstorm session to generate some new ideas about how we can make it happen.

If you regularly attended or volunteered for our community lunches or are interested in being involved, we invite you to come and share your ideas, all suggestions are welcome. We are hopeful that community lunches will return as soon as possible.

New Member Group

Jam Session - Express Your Interest!

If you play a musical instrument and enjoy making music with other people, why not consider joining a new hub member-led activity group? Jamming is a spontaneous and fun way to create music with other people without the pressure of trying to play a set piece of music perfectly. We know that some members can play the UKelele and guitar but all instruments are welcome. Percussion instruments always add a bit of oomph to a jam session or you might even play the harmonica.

If you would like to see this group get off the ground please speak to Hub member Gerard Siero or let us know at the front office so we can ascertain member interest.

Grubs'N' Bugs

Friday 9.30-11.00 am

Grubs and Bugs is a gardening play group that crosses all generations and allows pre-schoolers and grandparents to connect in a natural garden setting. They have invited our members to attend this group whether you have grandchildren or not. It is a free activity and no booking is required you can just walk in. The Vic Park Community Garden is at 484 Albany Highway, Victoria Park. Some of you may know it from attending the Cultivating Curmudgeon workshop offered during the recent cycle of the Connect60+ workshops. If you don't have much contact with young children but would like to, this is a perfect opportunity.

Connect 60+

Fridays 9.00am-11am

The next cycle of Connect 60+ starts on March 21st. If you missed out on the first workshops, we encourage you to book for the next cycle. We'll have some great speakers on healthy ageing, informative talks, fun workshops, and exercise classes. We explore self-defense, volunteering and purpose, cognition and physical activity, sleep, resistance exercise, sustainability, and social drumming. The new program with dates and activities is now available at the front office.
