What's On At The Hub 07/07/25



Hello everyone,

We hope everyone has had a great week!


Just a few updates from the Hub:


Hub Book Club returns on Monday, 7 July at 2:30pm. We look forward to seeing you there!


Chair Yoga will not be running next week on Tuesday, 8 July.


Line Dancing for Beginners will also not be running on Tuesday, 8 July and Tuesday, 15 July.


Improvers Line Dancing will go ahead on both dates with substitute teacher Jan Reily.


Member Measurement Day

Friday 18 July 9.30-11.00am


Our next Member Measurement Day will take place on Friday 18 July. Join us for morning tea and a chat on Friday morning and we will take your measurements through out the morning


You can evaluate your mobility, strength, and balance and receive a measurement record card to monitor progress there progress over time. Additionally, you will answer four questions related to your wellness and quality of life. This information will be recorded on a measurement card that you can build on.


If you haven’t participated already, this is your opportunity to commence your measurement journey. it is also a great time to catch up with your fellow members and socialise.

Sundowner

Friday 18 July 4.30 pm-6.00 pm



Sundowner is back Friday 18th July at 4.30pm. Come down to the Hub to celebrate, dance and socialise with your friends .


Catch up with old friends, and meet some new friends. Don't sit at home feeling bored or lonely, get your dancing shoes on and come down to the hub for a fun evening.

 

  $5 for Village Hub members and $10 for non-members. Please also bring a plate to share.




Connect 60+


Week 7 of Connect 60+ begins next week.


Come along at 9:30 AM as we explore Vocational Wellness with a focus on learning a new language!


Let’s Talk Language will feature fun games and engaging learning activities, all centred around the joy of discovering a different language.


Led by member Vicki Healy, who is passionate about different cultures, languages, and countries, this session will be a great social opportunity to connect, have fun, and give your brain a healthy workout!






Community Lunches


Community Lunches are up and running and people have been enjoying some yummy meals. Join us on July 8 for Cauliflower Soup followed by Bangers and Mash.

Curious About Ballroom Dancing?

Try Four Classes for Free!



If you’ve ever wanted to give ballroom dancing a go, now’s your chance! As part of a special offer from Dancesport Australia, you can try four classes for free  - and the Village Hub is one of the many participating studios around Perth.


You can join in on our Ballroom Fit every Monday at 1:00 PM, right here at the Hub with the voucher. The Come and Try period runs from 7 July to 28 September 2025.

✅ No partner required

✅ Fun, friendly, and great for fitness!


You will need to register to get your 4 free classes. Registrations open on 7 of July and close on 21 August 2025. You can sign up at: freeclasses.dancesport.org.au.


This offer is for people who have never tried ballroom dancing before and vouchers an be redeemed up until 28 of September or while they last. If you need assistance with registering for a voucher one of our staff may be able to help you.

Meet 7 year old Kya, she is the much loved pet of our friend and long time Village hub Member, Adrienne.


Adrienne is moving and is unable to take Kya with her. Kya is looking for a new companion, to love and care for her. If you would like to share your home with Kya, let us know and we will put you in touch.
