Film Screening - The Grey Line
This is the story of Helen’s struggle to find her place in the world.
Taken from her parents during a time when Aboriginal children were removed from their families through Government mandated policy, Helen was raised by a middle-class family in the suburbs of Perth and believed she was their biological daughter until the age of 14.
This is her story of hurt, a longing to find her true self and to finally be accepted for who she is.
As part of Town of Victoria Park's Kaatijiin Screenings, Connect Victoria Park will be hosting a film screening for "The Grey Line" on October 12, 5.30pm. The Noongar word for knowledge, 'Kaatijiin' aims to give attendees an intimate and thought-provoking look into two very different tales of Country and the people on it.
"Mammung" will also be screened on 13th September in the Vic Park Community Centre as part of Kaatjin. You can find tickets on the follwing link:
Both films are locally made and have deep roots in truth telling – both of this country in ancient times, and since colonisation. To book for "The Grey Line" please click below":
Next week's Community Lunch on Tuesday, September 3 will be Roast Lamb with Roast Potatoes, Pumpkin, Peas and Corn and Mint Gravy followed by Apple Crumble with Cream.
