Eating for Heart Health
Wednesday April 30, 11.15am
The food we eat plays a big role in our heart health. Our food choices are very important as they keep our heart pumping and strong. Curtin University will run a session about foods that support a healthy heart and foods that should be saved as occasional treats. In the long run what you eat could save your life so come along and learn about good food to keep your heart healthy.
Stay On Your Feet

Join us for week two of this great course designed to equip you with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to reduce your risk of falling. This program will include three informative workshops and three balance and strength classes. We'll be covering different topics every week so we encourage everyone to attend the full 6 weeks.
Workshops will include balance and strength classes with Hannes, in addition to talks by optometrists, Injury Matters and podiatrists.

Community Lunch Updates!
We are excited to announce that Community Lunch is returning! We'll be starting back up on the 29th of April, led by our new chef Amar and of course, our amazing group of volunteers. Amar is an experienced chef who has worked at many restaurants and pubs both in Perth and internationally. In addition, he's an incredibly community minded person, and we're excited to have him as part of the Hub's lunches.

We are looking for some additional volunteers to assist with community lunch. There are weekly, fortnightly, and monthly positions available. If you can assist, please let a Village Hub staff member know.
You can email us at village@connectvictoriapark.org

New Member Group
Jam Session Wednesday 23rd 2.30-4pm
If you play a musical instrument and enjoy making music with other people, why not consider joining a new hub member-led activity group? Jamming is a spontaneous and fun way to create music with other people without the pressure of trying to play a set piece of music perfectly. We know that some members can play the UKelele and guitar but all instruments are welcome. Percussion instruments always add a bit of oomph to a jam session or you might even play the harmonica.
If you are interested, please speak to Hub member Gerard Siero or let us know at the front office.

Creative Crafts Workshops
Thursdays, 2:30 pm

Join Village Hub member Anne, as she explores the world of creative crafts each week. These workshops allow you to express and develop your creativity. Creating craft projects exercise your dexterity and fine motor skills, and they can also contribute to mindfulness.
You can book for this free and creative new group on the following link

We are sad to announce the loss of Maida Brown a long-time Village Hub member who many of you will fondly remember. We know that Maida had a lot of friends here at the Hub and we would like to invite you to sign a card which will be sent to her family.
Please let us know at the desk if you would like to write a message.
