Hello everyone,
We hope everyone has had a wonderful week. As we move closer to the end of the year, it’s a busy time for many with Christmas catch-ups, celebrations, and end-of-year plans.
This marks our final What’s On for the year, and we’d like to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your ongoing support and for being such an important part of our community.
We look forward to seeing you again in 2026. Until then, we hope you enjoy a relaxing break and quality time with family, friends, and loved ones over the holiday period.
From all of us at the Hub, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and thank you for helping make our community such a vibrant and connected place.

End-of-Year Closure
Classes will begin again from the week starting 5 January. However, please note that individual class start dates will vary.

Lost and Found
We currently have a number of items in our Lost and Found. If you believe one of them may be yours, please collect it before we close.
Any unclaimed items will be donated to the op shop after 23 December.








Coming Up Next Year
Connect 60+
Starting Friday, 16 Jan
9.30am - 11.30am
Connect 60+ starts back on the the 16th of Jan, and we’re pleased to share that the program will come at no cost to all participants once again. Thanks to an Age-Friendly Communities Grant, we’re able to continue offering a range of meaningful workshops and activities, that reflect the feedback and ideas we’ve received from members throughout the year.
French Classes
Starting 12 January
11am - 12.30pm
Discover French in this fun and engaging 7-week language course. The course is suitable for beginners, those with some existing knowledge of French, and anyone curious about learning something new.
Sessions focus on learning in a supportive environment, building social connections, and exploring French culture along the way. Aline’s classes are welcoming and social, filled with encouragement, conversation, and plenty of laughter.
Guided Walk
Wednesday, 21 January
7.30am
We’re excited to introduce monthly guided walks, offering a great way for our community to explore local bushland, reserves, and parks. The walks will be led by Wendy, and the first walk of the year will take place at Shelley Beach Foreshore.
Meeting point: Lo Quay River Café, Lot 300 Fern Road (corner of Fern Road and Bridge Street), Wilson
Time: 7.30am

Wednesday Wellbeing
In Bassendean
Starting Wednesday, 21 Jan
Wednesdays, 9.00am - 11.00am
Join us at Wednesday Wellbeing at Bassendean 55+ (50 Old Perth Road, Bassendean) to find out what it is to age well! Wednesday Wellbeing starts back up on the 21st of Jan. Wednesday Wellbeing explores the International Council on Active Ageing’s Seven Dimensions of wellness, as well as what it takes to be an Age Friendly Community. It comes at no cost to participants.
Next year we have another great round of workshops and session to keep you active , informed and confident.

Community Lunch
Community lunch will resume on the 6th of Jan for another great year.
