We had a great week celebrating WA Seniors Week - here's a few snippets of what we were upto.





Measurement Day
Friday, 21 November
9.30am
Come along to our to check in on your physical, cognitive, and emotional wellbeing. Please bring your record card if you have already done a previous measurement.
We’ll also enjoy a delicious morning tea together, giving you the chance to catch up with friends, meet new faces, and connect with your Village Hub and Connect 60+ community.
While you're here, you'll take part in simple checks for mobility, strength, and balance — all developed in partnership with UWA and the WA Centre for Health and Ageing.

Christmas at Northam and Whitegum Farm

Our next Out n About trip will be a Christmas special to Northam and Whitegum Farm. Booking close soon, so please book by next week to secure your spot!

Morning tea by the picturesque Avon River in Northam
Free time to explore Northam or stroll across the iconic suspension bridge
Visit to Whitegum Farm – a beautiful restaurant set among the trees with views over a large farm dam

Wednesday Wellbeing
In Bassendean
Wednesdays, 9.00am - 11.00am
Join us each Wednesday morning at Bassendean 55+ (50 Old Perth Road, Bassendean) to find out what it is to age well!

Wednesday Wellbeing explores the International Council on Active Ageing’s Seven Dimensions of wellness, as well as what it takes to be an Age Friendly Community.
Each week we will have a talk and an activity that focuses on one or more of the dimensions of Wellness ( that include physical, emotional, Social, Intellectual, Vocational, Spiritual and Environmental ) and the elements that make up an age friendly community. Workshops include falls prevention, nordic pole walking, managing emotions, tai chi in the park and so much more.
Next week we will be facilitating workshops on Falls Prevention, with a presentation from Vicki on what causes falls and some of the things that you can do to reduce your risk and exercises from Hannes that will build strength and balance to help you not to fall and get up if you do.
This programme comes at no cost to participants as it is fully funded. If you know anyone living NOR who would be interested, please let them know. You can RSVP below:
