Hello everyone,
We hope everyone has had a great week. As we move closer to the end of the year, it’s a busy time for many with Christmas catch-ups, celebrations, and end-of-year plans.
A reminder that our Christmas Lunch is happening this Tuesday, 16 December. We’re really looking forward to celebrating together and sharing a festive afternoon with you all.
Class Updates
Active for Life and Chair Yoga will not run this Tuesday.
Active for Life returns on 13 January
Chair Yoga resumes on 6 January
Tai Chi will not be taking place this week and will return on 22 January
All other classes will continue as usual for the remainder of this week.
This week also marked Catt’s final line dancing class at the Hub after 7 wonderful years. We want to sincerely thank Catt for the energy, joy, and dedication she has brought to the community over the years. We wish her all the very best and look forward to resuming line dancing next year as we work towards finding a new instructor.

End-of-Year Closure
Our last day of classes for the year is 19 December.
Classes will begin again from the week starting 5 January. However, please note that individual class start dates will vary. We will keep you updated further for each class.

We are excited to have Alan Harvey, one of WA’s leading neuroscience researchers, presenting the session on Music and the Brain. Professor Harvey has had a distinguished career in neuroscience, with expertise in repairing the central nervous system through cell and tissue transplantation, gene therapy and pharmacotherapy. Alongside his scientific achievements, Professor Harvey has a deep interest in the connection between music and human wellbeing. His book Music, Evolution and the Harmony of Souls explores how musical activities support the mind and body, and he regularly speaks on this topic at events.
To complement this session, we’re also excited to have Daniel Potter, who will share how dance can boost balance, coordination, confidence and social connection. Daniel will demonstrate simple, enjoyable movements that everyone can try—no experience required.

Wednesday Wellbeing explores the International Council on Active Ageing’s Seven Dimensions of wellness, as well as what it takes to be an Age Friendly Community. It comes at no cost to participants. You can RSVP below:
