We hope you're keeping well and spring has given you some new energy after a long cold winter. We are half way through September and there's lots happening at the Village Hub ,from activities and events to volunteer opportunities. Whether you're joining a group, popping in for a cuppa, or just saying hello, we’d love to see you around.

Meet the Candidates
Friday 19 September, 2.30pm
Meet the Town of Victoria Park Local Government Candidates
We would like to invite all Village Hub members to a special afternoon tea where you’ll have the chance to meet the candidates standing in the upcoming Town of Victoria Park Local Government elections.

This is a great opportunity to hear directly from those who are representing our community. Each candidate will share their vision for the future of Victoria Park, talk about the issues that matter most to them, and answer questions from members. This is your chance to engage with them in an open and welcoming setting.

Wellness Measurement Day
with Morning Tea
Friday 19 September, 9.30am
Come along to our Measurement Day — a relaxed and social way to check in on your physical, cognitive, and emotional wellbeing. We’ll also enjoy Morning tea together, giving you the chance to catch up with friends, meet new faces, and connect with your Village Hub and Connect 60+ community.
While you're here, you'll take part in simple checks for mobility, strength, and balance — all developed in partnership with UWA and the WA Centre for Health and Ageing. Take simple tests like Time Up and Go, 30 second chair stand, grip strength and balance test. You’ll receive a personal Measurement Record Card to help track your progress over time — but most importantly, you’ll be part of a warm, welcoming space where community and wellbeing go hand in hand.
Whether you’ve done a Measurement Day before or this is your first time, everyone is welcome:
If you’ve participated before, this is a great opportunity to stay consistent and continue tracking your wellness journey. Please bring your Record Card along.
If you’re new, now’s the perfect time to get started and take the first step toward feeling your best!

Be Confident - NOK Box
Wednesday,24 September, 11.15am
Dealing with the death of a loved one is a challenge no one is ever truly prepared for. Beyond the emotional burden, the practical realities—like sorting through endless paperwork, digging through file cabinets, or trying to access important accounts—can feel overwhelming.

Join us for an informative session where we introduce Nokbox, an innovative tool designed to alleviate the stress of estate planning and home organization. Nokbox is a complete system that helps you organize everything from your accounts and possessions to your social media presence, community involvement, pets, and personal history.

Craft + Knitting Group
Delys and Faye absolutely love knitting—and they’d love to share that with you!
Join us on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM at the Village Hub for a morning of knitting, conversation, and a cuppa. Whether you're a complete beginner or it's been years since you last picked up the needles, this is a friendly and welcoming space to learn or brush up your skills.
This week, we’re working on simple squares or cosy fingerless gloves—perfect beginner projects.
It's free, fun, and open to all. Just bring yourself (and some wool or needles if you have them- but don’t worry if not, we’ve got extras to get you started).
