Wednesdays, 9.00am - 11.00am
Join us at Wednesday Wellbeing at Bassendean 55+ (50 Old Perth Road, Bassendean) to find out what it is to age well! Wednesday Wellbeing starts back up on the 21st of Jan. Wednesday Wellbeing explores the International Council on Active Ageing’s Seven Dimensions of wellness, as well as what it takes to be an Age Friendly Community. It comes at no cost to participants.

Next year we have another great round of workshops and session to keep you active , informed and confident. This cycle, we've got Nordic Polewalking, Making Your Own Pickles, Living Well With Arthritis, Pilates, Your Values and You Funeral and More!

New Class - Sit Fit
Starting Tuesday, 27Jan
9.00am - 9.35am
We’re excited to introduce Sit Fit, a new beginner-friendly and gentle exercise class. SitFit will be led by Joanne, who is passionate about helping people feel comfortable, confident, and supported as they move their bodies. Joanne uses a mix of simple equipment, such as balls and resistance bands, to help support movement, and music plays a significant role in keeping the sessions enjoyable.

The focus of the class is on improving mobility, flexibility, and building confidence. All exercises are performed while seated in a chair, with options available to suit different abilities and skill levels.

Connect 60+ has started, and we’re pleased to share that the program will come at no cost to all participants once again.
Jan 23 – Declutter, Donate and Dispose Responsibly
Are you feeling overwhelmed by clutter and want to simplify your life by having a more organised home. If so our workshop with Laura Monisse from Switch your thinking is just what you need. Explore how decluttering your home can reduce stress, improve focus, and create a greater sense of calm. This session offers practical tips and a gentle mindset shift around letting go.

A restorative morning combining gentle Pilates to support strength and mobility, followed by the calming sounds of Tibetan singing bowls to promote relaxation and mindfulness.
Feb 6 – Age-Friendly Victoria Park (Mayor of Victoria Park, Karen Vernon)
Join a conversation about what makes a community age-friendly, local initiatives underway in Victoria Park, and how the town is shaping inclusive, supportive neighbourhoods.
Feb 13 – Herb Potting & Sustainability
Meet two Vic Park locals passionate about the environment - Peter Devereux, and Iain Murray (aka The Cultivating Curmudgeon) in this session that connects gardening, wellbeing, and environmental care. Get hands-on with herb potting while learning about sustainability ideas for everyday life.
Feb 20 – Heart Health & Nordic Pole Walking
Learn about supporting a healthy heart with the Heart Foundation, followed by Nordic pole walking—an enjoyable way to boost fitness, balance, and confidence.
Feb 27 – Seated Volleyball
A fun, inclusive team activity that supports coordination, movement, and laughter. No experience needed—just come along and give it a go.

Spanish Conversation
Starts 13 January

Spanish Conversation starts back next week!
Join Vicki Healy for Spanish conversation sessions designed to build confidence, practice everyday language, and enjoy learning together. These sessions are suitable for beginners and those with some basic knowledge, with a focus on speaking, listening, and having a go in a supportive environment.
French Classes
Starting 12 January
11am - 12.30pm
Discover French in this fun and engaging 7-week language course. The course is suitable for beginners, those with some existing knowledge of French, and anyone curious about learning something new.
Sessions focus on learning in a supportive environment, building social connections, and exploring French culture along the way. Aline’s classes are welcoming and social, filled with encouragement, conversation, and plenty of laughter.
