What's On At The Hub 12/04/2024




Hi Everyone,


Good Luck to our Walking Footy Team as they take on another curtain raiser this Sunday, April 14!




The team will be attending Optus Stadium to take part in a walking footy curtain raiser before the Eagles v/s Richmond game. They will be playing against the combined South West walking footy team. The curtain raiser starts at 11.25am so if you will be at the game come and support our amazing footy team!


 

Some important changes and updates:

Active For Life circuit class will take place with Rebecca on Wednesday 17 April. Hannes is back on Thursday 18 April and classes will resume as normal.


Strength and Mobility classes will be taking place in Memorial Gardens in the corner of Harvey Street and Albany Highway on Friday, 19 April since the hall at the Hub will be in use for the fashion parade.


Unfortunately Community Lunch is cancelled for next week as well. We hope to have it return the next week, however we will keep you updated.


There has also been a number of changes to event dates: Member Measurement Day will now take place on 10 May and Voluntary Assisted Dying will take place on14 June


 

Black Pepper Boutique Fashion Parade


Next week is the much awaited Black Pepper Fashion Parade. Come along to the Village Hub on Friday 19 Paril at 10.30am if you love all things fashion. Black Pepper Boutique will be showcasing their new Autumn/ Winter collection of stylish, quality clothes for women - tops, dresses, pants, jackets and more in new season colours and styles will all be in show. Come find an insiration for your next outfit at the fashion parade. This event is free and everyone is welcome. It will be a wonderful morning with There will also be morning tea for you to enjoy.

Older Adults Outdoor Adventure Guided Walks


With the beautiful weather we've got coming up in Perth, it's time to head outdoors! Older Adults Outdoor Activities (OAOA) starts next month and we've got some wonderful guided walks ready. Older Adults Outdoor Adventure is a peer coordinated programme which includes 10 weeks of guided nature appreciation walks every three weeks. The first walk willl take place on Thursday, May 2, and will take you through Herdsman Lake starting 9.30 am.




OAOA is free for tenants and only $30 for members for the entire course. The walks are suitable for people with walking aids. This is a great way of getting out and exploring the wonderful nature that our surroundss offer. If you require lifts, it can also be arranged.

Be Confident - Legal Health Check


On our next Be Confident Session, Elder Rights WA will be coming to the Hub for a workshop on a Legal Health Check. Elder Rights WA is a specialist legal advice and assistance service located within the Civil Law Division at Legal Aid WA and provide legal assistance to older people experiencing any form of elder abuse, and safeguards and advocates for the rights of older people in Western Australia. With their expertise in the field this is sure to be an informative session that will help you explore what sort of assitance you might require.


What is a Legal Health Check?


A Legal Health Check provides a review of your circumstances based on the information that you provide to assist in identifying areas that may need attention. It can help you identify potential risks before they become an issue.
